The Last Blog of 2009
Wednesday, 30. December 2009
Hello everyone! My last blog of the year will be in English (no not American) just for the fun of it, and I figured I should write it now before I start to get rusty. I haven’t written anything for a while now so this will cover a lot of stuff that’s happened the last couple of months. Now where to begin…
The soccer season went great. We ended up as Peach Belt Champions for the first time in AASU history and we also got to the second round in the NCAA. Maybe we should have gotten further there but I don’t care what anyone says, I think my team did great! When the season was over I finally got to spend a weekend at home after being away for 8 weekends straight. It felt good to relax for a change, and I think the girls agree with me.
Here we are, ready for the final vs. Montevallo.
Here’s me, Lianne & Kayley after the game.
… & The foreigners!
Now that soccer season was over we finally got to celebrate the victory with some quality post Halloween party. The theme was L-E-T-T-E-R, so basically you had to dress up as something that starts with the same letter as either your first name or surname… in my case I picked P-risoner for P-etursdottir. And orange scrub pants, a wife beater and a tramp stamp later, VOILÁ! I prisoner was born. Tomas was a G-uard for the occasion for G-udmundsson and Bjorg was a B-arbarian warrior. The team was pretty colorful and it was really one of the best parties we’ve had together.

I went to Atlanta with Kayley, Chip and Björg to spend Thanksgiving at Davi’s place. I had never been there before so the foreigners along with Katie went to the Coca Cola Factory. It was interesting and delicious! It was fun being among such big buildings for a change, and the tourist that I am took a lot of pictures of course. Thanksgiving itself was really great. We got pilgrim & Indian food a la Garcia and it was soooo good. We just sat at the dinner table, eating and talking, really for at least 2 hours. It was great. We also went to Dave and Buster’s, which was new for me too. Bjorg and I gathered our tickets together in hope of winning a couple of shot glasses, and in the end with some help from Kayley and Katie, we were successful.
Here we are at the Coca Cola Factory, Björg, Kayle, me & Katie.

Here we are with the Garcia family outside their beautiful home.
The best roommates in the world took me out to dinner and had made me a poster with all our good memories together. I couldn’t read it without getting dust in my eyes for some reason so with breaks I finally got to read it all. Its one of the best things someone has ever given me, thanks guys! And I am proud to say that I got it home with me safely.
The best roommates in the world!
As soon as school was over it was just party all the way and saying good-bye to everyone. Not my favorite part but we had a good time.
We had a foreigners night. I had so much fun and will never forget it!
… maybe a little too much fun?? haha, never!
I also went to the flea market with Katie, Danni, Kayley, Amber & Tomas. It was huuuuge but fun to go look at some interesting things. You can basically find everything there, even cute puppies!
The trip back home was… interesting. Tomas, Bjorg and I went to Orlando for a couple of days before our flight home. We had found the incredibly cheap deal online… but apparently, not everything had been included. So when we get there we end up spending about 150 more dollars… each! Sooo nope, I’m not doing that again, haha. But we had a good time. Tomas turned 23 on the 16th and Bjorg got the Fridays people to sing for him. He was really happy about that btw, haha. But since he had to spend is birthday traveling it will be celebrated some other day. We spent a lot of time shopping… which wasn’t a really good idea since we didn’t have space for any of it. Kristin helped us with the luggage down to Orlando so the train ride wasn’t too bad, thanks again!!! But when we had to get to the airport it was a different story. We had to go two separate trips just to get the bags to the airport. So there I am, sitting in a phone booth, guarding 7 huge bags and a TV while Tomas went to pick up BJ and the rest. People were staring and probably wondering why I was alone with all that stuff, but I just took advantage of the free internet and started facebooking. When we finally got all the bags and ourselves to the airport they told us we couldn’t take everything with us without paying like $360. I can’t really say what happened, but after getting yelled at by some woman that really needs to find herself a guy asap, I’m afraid to share it with you here. But long story short, we’re here safely with all our stuff!
Kristin & Ali brought us our bags. THANK YOU!
We decided to go All American for our last days and had a Johnny Rockets burger with fries and a strawberry milkshake, mmmmm.
I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and got lots of presents. Miss you a lot and I can’t wait to go visit, see you soon! and Happy New Year!!!
